Teacher A teacher since 1994, Judi created the curriculum for the Voice Department at McNally Smith College, an institution designed for contemporary musicians. With a heartfelt belief that Contemporary Commercial Music deserves its place in academia, Judi has developed teaching techniques for healthy singing in any style. She works at Jazz Festivals as a clinician and has taught improvisation workshops with Bobby McFerrin in New York and Europe. Judi holds a bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska and a Masters in Education – Music Emphasis from the University of Minnesota.
Currently Judi is the Voice Department Chair at McNally Smith College, and often travels the country doing master classes and seminars on: “Vocal Freedom” “Vocal Gymnastics” “Verdi to Van Halen”; healthy singing in any style “Playing with the Changes” – toolbox for improvisation
She has done workshops with: The Sweet Adelines, Various church choirs and high school vocal ensembles, The Omega Institute (Rhinebeck, NY) and the Stimmen Voice Festival.
